MARRIED COUPLES MINISTRY

I really want to have a tremendous impact on the lives of married couples so I am taking the time to carefully examine the successes and failures in my own marriage.

My wife Frances and I have been married over 30 years and it has not been without challenges. I think back over the years when we ourselves had considered divorcing. I remember the times when it did not seem like we would ever stop arguing. I can remember sitting in a room looking across at my wife wondering if I had made a huge mistake. I can remember the heartache, loneliness, and tension in our home. However, through it all there was a principle found in the Word of God that lets us know that marriage is a covenant, not a convenience. My wife and I have lived a transparent life before our congregation. We openly share insights into marriage from our own experiences. Today we are more in love than ever before and count it a privilege to share our lives and ministry with one another.

Through quarterly Marriage recovery classes our members can ask questions and hear insights in marriage. Our annual Marriage Conference is a romantic get-away where couples go to renew their covenant and fellowship with other couple throughout the ministry.

For information on any of the Married Couples activities please call (810) 732-5880.
Also please see our Calendar.

The alarming acceleration of the divorce rate among Christian marriages has gained my attention. Somehow, slowly and quietly the influence of the world has begun to affect the churches ideals concerning marriage. It’s no wonder that marriages are in trouble when you consider the time the average person spends being exposed to promiscuous sexual behavior on television, radio, movies, and even printed media. You cannot even drive down a freeway without being exposed to half naked people on billboards trying to sell everything from cars to wine.
